The House is a Rental Property?

Did you know that less than half of the house is occupied by DTS members? When membership is low, renting out the vacant rooms to other students is a must in order to maintain cash flow.

In the past we didn't necessarily do a good job keeping up with all of the requirements of owning a rental property. Over the last two years, we've made great strides improving every aspect of our operation: we updated the rental contract to help better enforce house rules, we adjusted rent pricing to better compete, and we froze rent for members to encourage them to stay for multiple years.

New Alumni Board and Education Foundation Boards Elected

Congratulations to all of the new Alumni and Education Foundation Board members. Elections for the Education Foundation Board were held following the Homecoming and Ballweg Dinner on Saturday, October 17, 2009. Elections for the Alumni Board were held Sunday, November 1, 2009. Special thanks to Greg Hansen and Craig Schnuelle who leave their respective boards after many years of dedicated service.

You Don't Know DTS... Yet

That's a strong statement, I know, but think about it for a minute. When was the last time you talked to the brothers that pledged with you? When was the last time you connected with your pledge father? How long has it been since you've went to a DTS event or visited the house?

Mentorship

As one of the reasons many of us joined DTS, and indeed a major reason for joining any fraternity at all, we want to add some substance to our promise of mentorship and networking opportunities.

Under the guidance of Dr. David Wieckert, the Mentorship Committee is charged with the goal to match each active with an alumnus working in the active's desired field or industry. This opportunity is just getting off the ground, and the active members would really like to see it grow in order to connect more of our Actives with fellow alumni for mentoring and networking.
